On October 13th, Mei Yi, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Nanchang Municipal Committee and Mayor of Nanchang City, presided over the 25th executive meeting of the Municipal Government in 2026. The meeting conveyed and studied the important speeches and instructions made by General Secretary Xi Jinping recently, as well as the implementation opinions of the CPC Jiangxi Provincial Committee and Nanchang Municipal Committee. It also discussed the implementation measures of the Municipal Government and arranged and deployed the key tasks for October. The meeting also studied and deliberated on the “Draft of the Government Work Report”.

The meeting emphasized the need to earnestly study and implement Xi’s important remarks at the reception to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. We should firmly grasp the general tone of the work that seeks progress while maintaining stability, further liberate our minds, be innovative, work hard and take on responsibilities, implement the spirit of the 13th Party Congress of the city, consolidate and enhance the positive trend of economic recovery, and spare no effort to complete the annual targets and tasks. We must thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Party Building and Xi’s important speech made at the Political Bureau meeting of the CPC Central Committee, consolidate and expand the achievements of the learning and education on establishing and practicing the correct view of political achievements, persevere in implementing the spirit of the central Party leadership’s eight-point decision on improving conduct, and strive to create a clean and upright political ecosystem, providing a strong guarantee for promoting the high-quality development of Nanchang. We should earnestly study Xi’s important speech made during his meeting with US President Trump, broaden our international perspective, enhance strategic thinking, seize opportunities, meet challenges, actively expand high-level opening up to the outside world, and demonstrate the responsibility of the provincial capital with concrete actions. We must earnestly study and implement Xi’s important instructions on advancing the Peaceful China Initiative to a higher level, resolutely implement a holistic approach to national security, balance development and security, work with a sense of responsibility of “never letting our guard down” and the action power of “having a clear idea of everything”, and build a higher-level peaceful Nanchang. We should earnestly study and implement Xi’s important reply letter to all the teachers and students of Sichuan University, promote the development of education, science and technology talents in an integrated manner, make more efforts in “attracting, cultivating and utilizing talents”, and attract more outstanding talents to come to Nanchang, stay in Nanchang and take root in Nanchang.
