After long-term development, the sanitary and medical services system covering hospitals, grass-roots medical organizations and professional public health organizations in Nanchang City has been basically completed. At the end of 2020, the city had 2686 medical organizations of various levels and kinds, including 136 hospitals, 142 community sanitary service centers (stations), 94 health centers in townships and towns, 1164 village health centers, 359 outpatient departments, 701 clinics, health centers and medical rooms, 12 centers for disease prevention and control, 7 centers for specialized disease prevention and control, 11 maternal and child health centers, 11 health supervision institutions and 43 other health organizations. At the end of 2020, the city had 44,200 beds, with 17,900 doctors, and 24,300 registered nurses, and the total number of beds achieved a year-on-year growth of 21.8%, 13.1% for doctors and 9.5% for nurses.
